What’s our impact?

In last week's quarterly update we mentioned that we've been looking at our quality scores. It's now time to reveal these. We're proud to show great results and, more importantly, insights that support us in tailoring our programs to each coachee's needs for better behaviour change.

If you know someone that can benefit from the research below, L&D managers or even competitors, please pass this newsletter on. The more people who know, the bigger impact we will have in developing better leaders.

Improving our evaluations

We have always evaluated our services, however, over the last year, we have taken our evaluations to the next level. We have aligned all evaluations across our services so we can answer questions such as, which programs are most effective, what makes them so effective?

Since our mission is to create better leaders, we want to share our insights so that more people –L&D managers to competitors – have access to the same knowledge and further can improve their services.

Hopefully, you find this as interesting and exciting as us! We hope advancing this research will help us, our clients and our competitors to develop better leaders so we that we one day have developed a million of leaders to be measurably better.

In this two-part newsletter we will look at our data and see what we can learn for our coaching (this week) and workshops (following week). The results are based on self-reported leadership outcomes (improved effectiveness of leadership).

Our consultants are experienced leaders and managers in their own right, bringing years of professional experience to their coaching.

Insights

Our coaching is great
We see very little difference (low standard deviation) between our coaching scores, and they are consistently high. Current 90 days trailing, we have a Net Promoter Score of 80% and our average rating is 9.3/10.

Participants report improvements
Our participants report having massive improvements, rating 9.0/10.

Better outcomes with more sessions
Coaching programs with 1-3 sessions have lower outcomes than programs with 4-6 sessions (0.8-point difference). The highest outcomes are for programs with 6+ sessions (another 0.3 higher) but we don’t have much data there.

Coaches rate well
We see little difference between our coaches in both outcomes and Net Promoter Score. The difference we see is mostly explained by a few outliers (top-performing coaches). The average of the whole coaching group is very high (8.6) with no outliers at the bottom (lowest rated coach is 8.21), but a few outliers to the top (9.0+).

360 or no 360 Survey?
Our first indication is that 360s currently do not seem to impact the programs either ways.

Best leadership improvement money can buy?
If you want to have the best leadership improvement money can buy (for example for your executive team) then you should go with Face-to-Face coaching with one of our top coaches for 6 or more sessions. Our Face-to-Face coaching scores slightly higher (0.2 points) than our online coaching. However…

Online coaching is your best choice
If you want to get top tier outcomes, almost achieving the same impact (0.2 lower) as our face-to-face/top coach/6 sessions programs, but at a significantly lower price, then you should go with online coaching.

Next Steps

It is still early days for our evaluation method, but it already produces interesting results. We are now working on:

  1. Implementing the lessons learnt across the business to improve the quality scores.

  2. Having more comprehensive outcome measures as reported by peers, managers, and staff (360 feedback) across all our services.
